Laura began her stellar career in Fresno, California. Grand slams and broken records paved the way to the 1996 U.S. Olympic Team. After returning to Fresno State, she led the Bulldogs to an NCAA National Championship, earning a spot in history with the second-most career hits of any softball athlete to come before her. She is still the only Bulldog to achieve three consecutive 100-hit seasons. But Fresno State was only a glimpse of things to come. Berg emerged from college as one of the top outfielders in the world. She led the United States Softball Team to Olympic Gold Medals in 1996, 2000, and 2004, taking her place in history as one of the few softball players to claim such an honor.
