Penoyer attended the University of Minnesota, where she led the Golden Gophers to the Big Ten Championship. Robin had the lowest ERA in the conference at 0.88 and was selected to the All Big Ten second team. At the National level, Penoyer competed at the ASA Women’s Major Division for the Pennsylvania Clippers, Topton VIPS, and the Twin City Jammers. Internationally, Penoyer has played for the Puerto Rican National Team and a Dutch championship team. Penoyer has been featured in Sports Illustrated-Faces in the Crowd and on ESPN-Record Setters. She was also inducted into the Amateur Sports Hall of Fame and received National Organization of Woman (N.O.W.) Trailblazer in Sports Award. Penoyer’s explosive fast ball and rich experience bring an excitement to the pitching mound that young athletes, coaches, and fans will be thrilled to watch and learn from!
Career Highlights:
Penoyer has earned many honors and awards throughout her career. In high school, she was inducted into the Amateur Sports Hall of Fame in 1987, earned the state championship in softball for Stockbridge Valley HS in 1988, received the National Trailblazer Award in 1988, earned an Empire States Gold Medal in 1989, was the Most Valuable Pitcher from 1995-97 in the longest running Softball Tournament in the Country, took fifth place at the Women's Major Nationals in 1996 with the VIP's as well as was inducted into the University of Minnesota's Softball Hall of Fame in 1996.
